Goodbye

about

Do check out other freebies and albums at artpepper.bandcamp.com
I recently heard this again for the first time in years. It took me back to the night I first heard it and it blew me away as it did then. This was recorded at the Village Vanguard in 1977 with George Cables, George Mraz, and Elvin Jones. Hampton Hawes had just died. Art dedicated it to Hamp.

lyrics

It's free for a week.
I'm not usually meek
when asking for dough
But this time, no go.
I don't own this beauty
So I have a duty
To not sell it,
'Cause I don't own it.
That's not to say that you can't donate
a little something to help pay for the next release, coming out around Christmas.
But only if you can. It really is free. For a week.
