This is the end of an 8 minute Art Pepper solo. I'm trying to decide on next release (NOVEMBER 2017). Rocco suggested this set because it falls neatly into a time period from which I've released nothing so far. It's also interesting because it was taped days before the first Village Vanguard date. Also interesting because ART IS ON FIRE!
The big question: Can the brilliant Wayne Peet lower that bass and bring up that piano? Stay tuned. date was at Bourbon Street, Toronto, 1977: Bernie Senensky (p), Dave Piltch (b), Clark Terry (ds)
This is three minutes; it's not a whole take
But it's pretty wonderful, so give me a break
I'm saving my pennies for the next release
Which will be this one or another gorgeous beast
So if you have got a some loose change to spare
Drop it on me, and show that you care
But if you don't got it, don't worry 'bout that.
If you love Art I know you're a good hearted cat
Take the music for free.
I work on a sliding scale.
