BUT BEAUTIFUL September 1, 1925. Art's birthday. Amazing how many great sax players are Virgos! (Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, LESTER YOUNG). Anyway, this little jewel is part of a collection of live recordings assembled by Rocco Bertels. It was, I think, maybe, recorded under the auspices of Jules Anthonisson in Heist op den Berg in Belgium. An hour's drive from Brussels, where we were staying for a minute, in May, 1981, with our band: Milcho Leviev, Bob Magnusson, Carl Burnett. Or maybe it was recorded (really well) by somebody else? The label says Brussels?
