I used to hate the pirates who stole Art’s music and sold, and undercut, his legitimate releases.
Now I like them.
For Instance in this case.
This is a recording of an absolutely spectacular live performance in Ancona Italy in May of 1981.
It’s a good recording, possibly made by a radio station, probably secretly and illegally by the madcap promoter I remember with great fondness, Alberto Alberti. Collectors have had copies but none as good as this one, released in Japan by some label and priced at $65.
I bought it. This is a STUNNING little set. It was worth it.
And now I’m hoping to recoup.
